It's All About the Pizza

I actually enjoy making our own pizza. Not to sound like one of "those people", but it really isn't that difficult or time consuming.

Make your dough.

We prefer whole wheat. There are many variations. Most consist of the basics: flour, yeast, salt, sugar, water, and olive oil.

Work it into a ball.

That's it. It's that easy. Now leave it to rise.

Mix some sauce.

I use tomato paste, water, and spices.

Sausage and pepperoni...
turkey version.

Toppings make the pie:
tomatoes, artichokes,
and kalamata olives...

...pineapple and mushrooms.

And of course, cheese.

By now the dough has risen.

Flatten out the dough in a greased pan. Prick the bottom with a fork. Add the toppings. Pop it in the oven.

Fast forward thirty minutes....

Pizza for the kids...

...and pizza for the grown-ups.

Granted, it's not quite as easy as delivery.

But try it.

You'll never look at Papa John's the same way again.
