Crochetfest

I went to Austin this past weekend to see Lia. We decided to have a Crochetfest. Much like the Sewingpalooza, we planned on having some good food, loud laughs, and serious chat time while partaking of adult beverages. Only this time we would be wielding crochet hooks.

Lia had requested that I teach her some crochet basics. We started with the chain stitch. I have no pictures of this beginning stage. Remember, we were also enjoying adult beverages. We enjoyed them so much that my
photographic skills were dulled. You will just have to trust me.

The next day we decided to grab brunch and tackle the single crochet stitch.

We went here. This is their patio. I totally dig these chairs.

We sat and enjoyed some ice tea and crocheted while the kids played...at a park right behind the patio. How cool is that? I have decided that every
restaurant should have a park behind it.

I played teacher.

Lia was the attentive student.
I am impressed with her new found skills.

All that crocheting worked up quite an appetite. Yes. I really love ketchup.

It was a great weekend spent doing something I love with a friend I adore....

It doesn't get much better than that.
